My Cat Susie is Crazy About Eating Grass!
The first thing Susie does in the morning is go to the front door and wait for me to bring her some blades of grass. She will do this before she even eats her food. I have to admit I find it hysterical. She reminds me of a crack fiend that needs a hit.
Why Do Cats Eat Grass?
It does not matter whether your cat is an outdoor cat or an indoor cat. I have never seen a cat that did not like a little fresh grass salad in the yard. Grass is an irritant in the cats stomach which causes them to regurgitate all the nasty stuff in their stomach. This would be evolutionary behavior due to the foods they would eat in the wild. This would cause them to vomit up feathers and other material that is not easily digested.
Luckily my cat Susie eats a very clean diet of Purina Cat Chow and does not heave that often. Our other cat Patricio on the other hand will start heaving as soon as he eats the grass. Susie and Patricio are both rescues but Patricio was already a year old when he was rescued while Susie was a kitten. He is definitely a street thug minus his cajones. While she is much more sophisticated and a proper lady.
