Cats can feel when you’re sick and can help you heal. Before living with cats if someone had said that to me, I would have responded “Oh boy, here goes another cat-crazy person statement’’. But you know what? Now I believe it and I’ll tell you why.

Several years ago, I broke my wrist by slipping on ice and falling down on it. At that time I was living with a roommate that had 2 cats. One of the cats was particularly close to me and spent a lot of time with me. So after my accident, I managed to get up with the horrible pain and walked to the apartment. While I waited to get driven to the hospital, I sat in agony on the living room sofa. And there she was, the cat placed her little paw on my wrist and began to purr. She kept batting her eyelashes in signs of love as I cried myself in pain. It helped,...a lot, and that was the first time I recognized the healing power of a cat.
Now I have a cat of my own. For those who follow me, you may be already very aware of who my beloved Sasha is. She even won a pet contest last week! #Bananapuglife2ndbday
I just got a terrible cold. One of those that won’t even let you get up from bed. After three days, I finally have enough energy to at least get on my laptop and write a post. Sasha has been with me ALL the time. She cuddles up close to me and purrs, sends me love by batting her eyelashes and follows me whenever I get the energy to get up. Once again, I can confirm that cats have the power to help heal.
Cat Fact
According to some scientific research, cats not only help heal through the sound of their purr but through the vibration it produces as well.
Cats are able to heal because their purrs fluctuate between 20-140 Hz, a frequency range which has been proven to be medically therapeutic.

So do you believe me now when I say cats have the power to heal or at least help heal? I sure think so! And all that purring love I am receiving from my little Sasha is helping me heal. Do you have a cat? What is your thought about this? Please feel free to leave your comment, I’d be happy to read about it!
“If you put a cat and a bunch of broken bones in the same room,” goes an old saying among vets, “the bones will heal.”
