In a similar fashion to the risks that are present when consuming raw foods for humans, cats face the same dangers of harmful bacteria including E. Coli and salmonella. If a cat has ingested raw foods and begins to show signs of weakness, runny stools or any abnormalities, there is a high probability of a related raw food issue.
This can in turn cause harm to other pets or even people in the household. Contamination can also come from handling raw foods and it is a matter of priority that hands should be sanitized before playing with a cat. Keeping a cat healthy and safe from harmful foods is the responsibility of the owner and due diligence should be upheld.
