With the death of my cat Curly the feeling of grief is felt. We use the phrase good grief when something goes wrong but good & grief do not go together in my book,
Curly was 17 yrs and 4 months with me. We were very comfortable with one another. He would lay in my lap as I sat at the computer and slept at my right hip at night.
He developed a neurological problem, brain tumor most likely that did him in. He was doing ok with it but only for a short while till you can see he was suffering.
This picture was taken the day after a steroid shot. The day before Curly came up the stairs making a frightening scream. His left eye had rolled back in his head, he was disorientated and scared.
I rushed him to the Vet five minutes away, where blood was taken and he was given the steroid.
As you can see the eyeball corrected over night but on the third day it rolled back making him blind in that eye.
He was ok for a few days getting around normally until he wasn't.
Curly was one of 3 brothers I named Moe, who died at 2 yrs old, Larry who is still with us and Curly.
Someone had dropped them off in a box at the same Veterinarian down the street, when they were a about 12 weeks old.
I had just put down Tippy, the one cat I had 2 weeks ago when the receptionist called and wanted to know if I would come over, they wanted to show me something.
I figured it was a cat, and I thought it was to early to be thinking of getting another cat.
But when I saw the 3 rascals in a cage together they enchanted me. I studied their behave because I wanted to name them Moe, Larry & Curly after the 3 Stooges.
As it was Moe was the leader, Larry in the middle and Curly the unpredictable one who I often called The "Curly Monster". It was a magical time for the 2 years Moe was alive. Everyday they would give me smiles and a good laugh. After Moe left the magic left with him.
I volunteered at a cat rescue place after that until 3 yrs later 1 month old Dexter showed up, who I fostered and wound up keeping. He wasn't Moe but became his own lovable character.
Then another 3 year when stray pregnant Mama and her 4 babies made this their home
Curly was a black and tan mackerel tabby, Handsome but not flashy like the other cats. That may be the reason I haven't that many decent pictures of him.
