Hello, steemians! Welcome to meow page, eh!
With the coming of warmer weather, 2 of the cats want to go outside more often. The big orange cat, Custer, has been an outdoor cat for most of his life, he sleeps and eats in the house, but that's about the only time he wants to be in the house.
Here he is with his sister, Sassy, in the porch last winter.
Both Sassy and Custer are about 10 years old now, they came from the same litter in what we call "the year of 10 cats". Sassy is a scaredy cat, she has no desire to go out into the big bad world of scary noises.
Shitaki, the robust black cat, on the other hand, wants to go outside anytime I'm outside. She doesn't like it as much if there's nobody outside. She has discovered that she doesn't really like walking in snow very much.
She seems to like being in the greenhouse a lot, as long as someone else is out there with her.
Earlier in the week, we were out working on the big garden bed in the back yard, and the cats were supervising, naturally. Custer decided that eating some grass might be a good idea.
And then he decided that it might be a good idea to let the other cats in the neighborhood know that the garden is his territory.
Meanwhile, Shitaki wasn't too concerned about any of that nonsense, she was relaxing.
So far, Shitaki has been staying inside the fence when she's outside. I don't let her out unless I'm going to be outside, that way I can keep track of her so she doesn't just wander off into harm's way.
I asked Shitaki what she thought about these pictures and she said that she approves this post.
Thanks for stopping by my page to check out my caturday post!
