Hello cat lovers!!
Today I'll share a very special post that is being mentally prepared for months. I took a while searching for old photos and scanning it...and I needed time to compile it.
When I imagined this post I was thinking to share some of my cat's photos, but then I realized I would like to have a historical registry, for me and to my closest family.
As you can imagine, attending to the quality of the next photos, they were shot with an old camera and scanned for this post.
A few years ago I didn't shot several photos as I do nowadays with digital cameras.
Are you ready?!
- Smif and Skupy (1) (1990)
These were the two first cats we owned, they were both siamese. Smif was the older one and it was heavy (at least for me with only 7 years old).
Unfortunately, they faced a tragic accident and we picked two more Siameses cats (brother and sister). It was Skupy and Sheila!
- Skupy (2) and Sheila (1994)
We owned these cats for a couple of years, but I can't remember much of their personality. For example, Skupy loved to eat potato peels and Sheila was a regular cat (eat & sleep cat).
- Branquinho was special! (1994)
Branquinho, which can be translated as "White/ Whitey" (yes, he was named according to his color) was the biggest cat we had. He loved to play, steal frozen fish left to unfreeze (we didn't have a microwave) and only drank water directly from the faucet. Weird, hein!?
These three cats lived with us a couple of years, but after we moved to a new house they started to disappear slowly.
- Xaninha (1995-1996)
This was a female cat, but I only found this photo of her and can't remember what happened to her.
I think she also disappeared as the above three.
For 4-5 years we didn't own any cat, my family was devastated with losing those cats. But then I fall in love with a white cat while in university and got this beautiful female cat to live with me.
- Bianca Ariopse [2002]
I named her Bianca due to her color, and Ariopse because she was very prankish!! Soon I realized it was difficult to keep it with me, then I took her to my parent's house.
Do you ever seen "Black Cat White Cat" by Emir Kusturica?!
Well, I did and decided to have a black cat too!
- Pitinho [2003]
With 8 Kg (17lb) it was the fattest cat we had!! He almost couldn't jump, poor cat!
- The three sisters (2004)
I was so happy to find this photo!! These cats were found in the bushes and we kept three of them (females) and my grandmother took the male cat (the one on the right, so cute!).
Years have passed...and they kept with us!
Orelhas-de-lince (left), Rafeira (up right) and Pipinha (down right).
Pipinha had beautiful cat 's: Didinho (2006) and Five Bros (2007)
- Didinho (2006)
- The five bros
Besides these four cats in the photo, there is also Malhado, but I won't share any photo today.
It’s a silly and irrational thing, but I decided a few years ago that I would stop posting my beloved pets photos on Facebook or any other medium because it was bringing me bad luck. After a short time of posting their photos, something terrible would happen to that pet that led to their death.
I know one day I’ll write a huge post for him because he’s the last one of these 5 brothers.
Here are some of the many many photos I have!
- Pipinho
- Cinzentinho
- Ratazano
Now we only own two cats, Malhado and Risquinhas. Hope I will only write about them in many years from now!!
This is my first submission to Caturday. Hope you also liked to know my first pets!
