Hello there!
is hosting an Origami Tuesday Pay it Forward Competition with a Christmas theme last week and this is my entry π€.
When I think about Christmas and origami, the one thing that comes to my mind are Christmas ornaments and my absolute favourite has to be stars! (I even crocheted a star yesterday for #needleworkmonday π)
It exudes positivity,
A β signifies achievement,
and provides encouragement,
A β shows the way,
To all mankind.
If you search for Origami Stars, there are so many different types. One star that caught my eye was this Modular Braided Star, designed by Maria Sinayskaya and in this Youtube video, Sara Adams of www.happyfolding.com demonstrates how to fold this Star model:
It was my first time folding this model and I really enjoyed the process, especially the braided parts and the result of this origami is a pretty firm star model which I like.
The model requires 8 pieces of square papers divided into 4 of each colour. I used 5cm x 5cm papers.
Here's where the folding starts, following the Sara Adam's Youtube tutorial.
After folding all 8 pieces of paper.
This is where the fun begins! The formation!
Braiding or insertion....
Final braiding....Love the effect at the center!
Voila!
Front and back or back and front, whichever you prefer! Perfect for a Christmas tree π!
If I am lucky enough to win the SBI, I would like to gift it to and I would also like to invite her to join us at #ccc in our weekly running contests π:
