Last night was a hell lot of fun for the people of the northern part of Ghana. It happen to be the celebration of their festival called the fire festival. It is celebrated annually by the Northern Ghana on every 9th day of fire month that is the in the Traditional calenda. The origin of this festival backs date to the time when a king lost his dear son. The king assembled his worriors and instructed then to look for him.
It was night time and, so the people lit torches in search for the boy. Finally they found him under a tree deeply asleep. The parents taught the tree tried to steal their child. So they therefore considered the tree as evil and threw the torches they were carrying on that tree and shamed it.
