Hello my dear friends of Steemit. Today I will be sharing with you a new topic in #celestialchallenge initiated by , today's content is "Saturday-Agriculture".
Today on this Saturday of agriculture we will talk about the planting and harvesting of rice food that I particularly like very much and which is very versatile because with it you can make many meals, desserts and drinks.

The first thing we need to know is what type of rice we are going to plant, since we can find 6 different types of rice, depending on the purpose we are going to give or the recipe we are going to make we can plant the types of rice:
• Medium grain rice. This type of rice is moist, tender, slightly sticky and a little creamy when cooked. It has the same texture as long grain rice.
• Short grain rice. When cooked, short grain rice becomes softer and stickier. It is also a little sweeter. This is the rice that is used with sushi.
• Sweet rice. This rice is sometimes called "glutinous rice" and is sticky when cooked. It is often used for frozen products.
• Aromatic rice. This type of rice has more flavor and aroma than other varieties. This category includes basmati, jasmine, red and black rice (of the japonica variety).
• Arborio rice. This type becomes creamy with a chewable center after cooking. It is mainly used for risotto and other Italian dishes.

Well once this point is defined we must locate a planting place, in a clay soil slightly acidic to obtain better results, we must locate a place where it receives a lot of sunlight since the rice grows with bright light and in temperatures higher than 21 ° Celsius. We must consider the season since we should take a time lapse with these characteristics of 3 to 6 months for the growth of plants and flowers.

The seeds should be soaked for a period of 12 hours never under any circumstances this time should exceed 36 hours. (While your seeds are soaking, plan where and how you want to plant them.) Most prefer to plant the seeds in rows so that it is easier to water them and remove the weeds. With this in mind, the area does not need to be flooded in itself. , it simply has to remain wet). Observe the water levels in the planting area and keep the soil constantly humid. If you wish, keep 5 cm (2 inches) of water for the rice to grow. At least make sure the soil is constantly wet, if not flooded. Wait until the sprouts of the grains grow after a week, the seeds must be dispersed to avoid an agglomeration.

Wait until the rice grains ripen. This will take approximately 3 to 4 months. During this time, they can reach up to 17 centimeters in height. Let the water dry or drain the excess water before removing the rice for harvesting. Over the next two weeks, the grains of rice will turn from green to golden. That's when you'll know they're ready.

Cut the stems and let them dry. When the rice has turned golden brown (approximately 2 weeks after draining), it will be ready. Cut the stems just below the heads, where the rice grains are. You will see small bags on the top of the stem, without a doubt those are the rice husks!. Bake the stems at 82 ° C (180 ° F) for one hour. Take the heads and put them in the oven to toast them. It should not be too hot or the grains will burn. During this time, they should acquire a darker shade of golden color. Separate the grains from the husks. After the time has passed, allow the beans to cool. Then, rub them with your hands (or use a mortar) to separate them from the husks. Now that you are dealing with the grains of rice, you will really recognize them. The result will be rice grains ready for cooking and consumption.

He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread, but he who follows vain (purposes) will be filled with poverty.
