Does anyone follow UK politics?
One phrase...WTF....is going on? Holy guacamole. This shit is going crazy.
I recently read this article, Purge-Proofing for Labour Supporters: A Handy Guide by Billy Casper and I cannot believe the extent to which this shadowy committee(composed of paid national and regional officials – helped by leading pro-coup MPs) enforce "party" rules.
When I read what is going, and whats been going for a while, I automatically heard this song in my head....
Politics is a fucking farce, and the above article highlights the extent to which the political aristocrats will take to secure the status quo. They will skew the words to such a degree, until they reach a twisted reality that they deem appropriate. Like in the grand jury video of Bill Clinton when he says, "well it depends what your definition of is is." All it really is, is a pathetic and destructive attempt to manipulate words to get a reality you want. (i.e The purging committee tapping clauses and chapters that are highly arbitrary, and politically exploit the shit out of it to bar anyone entrance into the party).
Its a fucking curtailment of our freedom of speech. A blow to the fundamentals of "democracy."
Censorship is our modern day guillotine. While we haven't seen physical assassination(s) like the ones in the 19th and 20th century; their presence still looms in our socio-political context. It's just morphed itself onto a more character/ideal style of assassination. What will the future be like in a couple of weeks? Who knows. But censorship must stop. Freedom of speech must not be regulated. I am optimistic, and I hope a shift in power, ideas, and representation emerges from all of this.
