There's something beautiful and magic about portraiture art and so freaking difficult, especially to connect with the person you're photographing and it's a lot more complicated if you are naturally shy. A friend of mine had a project about portraits of people of certain parts of downtown Caracas, she invited me to join her project so naturally I said yes because her intention was to print the photos in a large format such as Inside Out Project by the urban artist JR. / Una amiga mía venía desarrollando un proyecto sobre retratos de personas de ciertas partes del centro de Caracas, ella me invitó a participar, naturalmente dije que sí debido a que su intención final era imprimir las fotos en un formato grande al estilo de Inside Out Project del artista urbano JR.
I was pretty motivated, so I went out with my small camera and found Mr. Gilberto Matheus, an street librarian, passionated about books and a great conversationalist. Mr. Matheus was located under an elevated bridge of the Urdaneta avenue with San Bernardino, he was in an advanced age back in 2014, so I'm not sure if he's still alive. / Estaba muy emocionada, así que salí con mi pequeña cámara y hallé al Sr. Gilberto Matheus, un librero callejero, apasionado por los libros y un gran conversador. When I started to talk to him about the project he kindly agreed to being portrayed, I gave him a big smile and asked him for his best interesting pose...
