Good evening community of Steemit. Today I bring you a drawing made by me when I was studying at the university, it is a dog suffering an attack of epilepsy, a common problem in purebred dogs.
The attacks usually start without any warning. The limbs stretch stiffly and sometimes they move pedaling, as if the animal was running or galloping. The animal closes its jaws; the eyes are fixed and with the fixed gaze, or the eyeballs can rotate and the pupils are dilated. Usually, there is a good amount of salivation in the mouth. The rectum and bladder usually pass involuntarily. The dog regains consciousness in 1 or 2 minutes: in a few cases the consciousness may not be completely lost. The first attack often occurs between the age of 1 and 3 years. Text taken from West, G. Encyclopedic Dictionary of Veterinary.
