Last month, Ke Jie, the Chinese Go master, has lost in Battle with Alphago, the artificial intelligence developed by Google. Ke said he would certainly win the battle before the competition and said Alphago was no competitor to him. However, Ke did lost all the 3 battles in the end, making some people laughing at him on the internet, saying he was too arrogant and he deserved it.
Even the most intelligent man would lose in a battle, is AI a future threat to mankind and will it readers most of our jobs? With all machine trading, robot and the applications to the medical care. We all don't know how advanced it could be in the next decade. However, in my opinion, Ke deserves our compassion as it is completely normal to have some pride when he was so successful, standing on the top of the world in one field at an early age before 20.
So what do you thank? Has AI surpassed human intelligence, or is it just the power of the internet search engines?
