It's harder for smaller businesses to accept bitcoin, as the price fluctuates a whole lot. The reason being is, paying wages, bills and restocking items that were sold in return for bitcoin from the wholesalers and such.

Example....
We spend 1btc at a coffee shop in town, that coffee shop has to use that 1btc to repurchase the coffee, milk, sugar and all other items and on top of that pay their employees which makes it almost impossible to do, especially if your only making enough to get by.
