Megaupload 2.0
Being five years to the date since the raid, Kim Dotcom has been planing on a release of the new improved Megaupload 2.0. According to his Twitter account the delay should be only a day or two. This time around they are going to use alternative methods of storage.
Instead, it plans to use third-party providers such as Maidsafe and Storj
This means that the new Megaupload will mostly act as a middleman between other file-storage platforms, adding a separate layer of encryption through Bitcache.
Apparently the Bitcoin market has been watching in anticipation of the release of the new improved Megaupload 2.0, shortly after the update by Kim of the "Hiccup" the price of Bitcoin dropped $15 inside of 10 minutes. Part of this may be from the fact that over 200 million people used to use Megaupload, and with the new improvements of tying files to Bitcoin transactions this may lead to a massive increase in the numbers of Bitcoin users.
Outside of great news for Bitcoin, could this also mean great news for both Maidsafe, and Storj being they may be using both of the networks in order to store all of the file information.
