I started looking for a charity that really stuck out to me, Children? Dogs? Special Needs? I seemed like great causes. But more often than not, we started finding out that we couldn't fully see where the money was going, Which Children? Where are they? and what have they been bought with the donation? Im not saying these Charities aren't good, simply that the answer was not transparent enough for us to feel satisfied.
Which is why I came up with the idea of not using an organised charity with them doing all the work, why don't we get directly involved too!? So we decided to be the ones to get our hands dirty and get stuck in. So we started the hunt for a good cause, and we found John Johnson, a homeless man from Leeds.
John has been homeless for 1 year (at the time of writing), he's originally from Scotland and suffers from Paranoid Schizophrenia which causes him to hear voices when around large groups of people. So far this has meant that using the government services such as hostels for the homeless and the St Johns Cript out of the question as it exacerbates his condition.
John has a great nature and is still naturally a happy person despite the hardship he faces living on the streets.
So far we have bought him;
• 1 Winter Jacket, 1 Waterproof Jacket
• 1 X T-Shirt
• 1 Four Season Sleeping bag
• 1 X Insulating Groundsheet
• 1 X Insulation Blanket
• 1 X Wheeled Portable Suitcase for Storage
• 8 X Boxer Briefs
• 8 X Socks
