Do your little bit of goods where you are; it's those little bits of good put all together that overwhelm the world. - Desmond Tutu
Overwhelming... That's exactly the right word, Desmond.
The feeling of giving without expecting anything in return is something everybody may experience at least once in their lives.
There is nothing more heart-warming than watching them being happy!
proud, touched and overwhelmed
We're door openers to their future
As previously mentioned in our introduction post (which got an incredible feeback - thank you so much!), we've been working on this idea since a couple of months.
One might believe that on an island everybody frequents the beach on a regular basis, but that's not the case. A lot of people on Canary Islands don't have the financial possibilities to even move from one village to another. Economical barriers often lead to social isolation.
pretends to be a door opener - both in a literal sence (enabling kids to leave their daily routine) and also in an abstract sense (trying to show them opportunities and possible paths to enter).

What really touches us is that: it works.
You can see it in their eyes. They're completely fascinated and it's as if we had pressed a button and all their energy comes out now.
In the water they learn a lot more than just how to put their feet on the surfboard. It's a complete social training. They learn how to move within a group, help others, take care of the ones next to them and enjoy their time as a team. In only one of these sessions they can broaden their horizons considerably.
After having been planning these activities for a while watching the real impact now is beyond awesome.
Thanks to volunteers from the Red Cross and a professional team of surf instructors from Calima Surf School, in October and November we will teach almost 50 kids how to catch a wave.

One of the wonderful things I learned about charity these days is that you don't need much to generate a huge impact.
It's as always in life: every idea needs one volunteer who stands up and says I can do it!
Then others might join and suddenly it becomes a whole movement.
We promise you that this is just the beginning, and that we won't stop on doing good and making more kids happy. They're the future!
Thanks for your amazing support, steemians! Stay tuned,
