Hey my fellow Steemians! Remember the story of my student whose mother suffered from a stroke? This will be the last part of the saga and, fortunately, there is a happy ending!
SUCCESS!
Yesterday, thanks to your amazing donations, me and my students were able to raise a capital and purchase everything needed for our fundraising event. After acquiring ingredients, we started preparing foods and beverages. we brought the essential kitchenware from our own households and in the evening before the planned event we set up our booth. Everything was ready for the great finale – excited and full of energy, we went back home to have some sleep.

Preparing the props!
My lovely angels.
The next morning came shortly after and the event started. We spent 8 productive hours selling fries, juice, and hot cake. Although initially only a handful of people came up, the number started raising incredibly fast and in the end the booth brought plenty of amazing people willing to chip in to the cause.
Although exhausting, it turned out to be a great success – everything was sold out and we fundraised more money than we had expected!
Immediately after finishing the event and disassembling the booth, we went to visit the unfortunate student and hand the money in. (Handed 2550 php (51 USD))
The smile on his face and restored hope in his eyes ascertained us that every second spent on the fundraising was worth it!
Moreover, we found out that we were not the only ones who came up with an initiative – there were other individuals trying to help them as well! This is great news because the money raised by all of us will help them live with no stress and struggle.
I would like to thank everyone who provided us with any sort of help. You are all brave and amazing people that successfully helped a young boy and his family survive a horrible and unfair state of affairs. I would like this story to serve as yet another example of how powerful a simple, gratuitous initiative can be. I encourage everybody to do the same and use the Internet as a great force of good. By helping those in need, we can all make our world a much better place.
P.S. = This student's school and graduation fees are already paid using the donations received. Amazing humanity!
Love,
Glenna <3
