Far from the radars of worldnews a country and its people are struggling to survive. We are speaking of Venezuela. Paradoxically, this country is harboring among the biggest oil fields in the world. Nonetheless the economy is broken and people have great difficulties to find food to feed their children.
This video from france.24 shows the extent of the misery in Venezuela:
A little help
Christmas is a time to share and to help. Instead of donating money to charities that send us letters to our mailbox, I decided to use the power of steem to help some people in Venezuela. I have been inspired by who started an action to help 8 people from Venezuela to have a nicer Christmas.
Using Steem to help some people from Venezuela
I wanted to help these people in a sustainable way and I believe that I have found a solution thanks to steem. I invested what I had planed to donate to charities into Steem and created this account . I also plundered some accounts of my faucet website to fund this account. To start I managed to collect 750 Steem Power which represents around 0.02$ upvote at the moment.
The purpose of it this account is to upvote steemit posts of people from Venezuela. On steemvoter, I created automatic upvotes for these people:
,
,
,
,
,
,
,
Whenever they post something on steemit, they will get an automatic 100% upvote from .
Trying to make it sustainable
Thanks to how steemit works, the Steem Power of this account won't decrease and it will be able to provide upvotes to these people for a long time. In order to ensure that these people profit even when they do not write any posts. I will sell the upvotes of on smartsteem whenever voting power is above 95%. Like that the sold upvotes will increase the Steem Power of the account over time and in return the upvotes will become more significant.
Will some cents help these people?
Of course the value of an upvote of this account is at the moment rather limited. I don't believe that these people will be able to eat thanks to these upvotes. I won't be able to make a difference just by myself but I will give you ideas in further articles how you can contribute to make this project grow.
The aims - Increase to upvote value and increase the number of people to help
The first aim I have is to increase the Steem Power of this account so that the upvotes will be more consequent. Later on I would like to extend the help to more people. I hope that by helping a few people with some additional steem, this will have a positive impact on the people around them, their families, but also the people they make business with. Cryptocurrencies seem at the moment the only way to store value in this country.
Who is behind this project
I understand that with all the scams out there, nobody is willing to just give money away. I am . I've been running a website that gives free cryptocurrencies to people for more than 4 years. I have distributed an accumulated value of more than 5 BTC over this time period to users all over the world. Thanks to income from ads I always managed to cover the costs. I have also created some free courses where I show people how to make money with crypto currencies. For me cryptocurrencies are a way to help others in a sustainable way.
How can I know whether this project is legit?
When you check https://steemd.com/@help.venezuela you will always be able to see the progress of this account. The Steem Power and the upvotes that are given.
