PROJECT SMILE

We had a great and exhausting time preparing for the upcoming Project SMILE program this coming Saturday. This is such a pleasure for me to be part of this fun-filled project that showcase compassion, love, kindness, and camaraderie towards children. So, I was glad and grateful that and
asked for volunteers to help packed up the goods for this upcoming event.
I’ve always loved charity work and just looking at those people give their joyous smiles. My parents and family always taught me how to be generous towards others and to understand that showing our love towards others is also by giving with a light cheerful heart. I had participated in charity works before even in college where and I had to donate food and clothes to those typhoon victims. It feels so good to help others without asking anything in return.
Anyway, we volunteered to help pack and prepare for the said event. We went out shopping for toys, books, and other goods. It was a mixed feeling of fun and exhaustion. I was really happy that we were given a task to search for story books for the children’s library.
Since, reading is what I’m fond of and books are just my forte, I enjoyed digging up for stories that would teach the young readers about values and would give out lessons about life. Searching for quality children’s story book was quite enjoyable and reminded me of my younger self that had once read the fairytales and bedtime stories.
After all the shopping and digging for books, we finally headed to ’s place where we started to put up the goods and clothes. While doing my work for the preparation of the project, I had lots of thoughts that came into my mind. Yes, poverty has always been rampant in our country.
Since, I was young I always had a heart for the less fortunate. It just breaks my heart that some people would have to sleep in sidewalks and children running around the streets of the city begging for food to eat in order for them to survive. Those thoughts never went out of my mind while I was filling these plastic bags of rice.
It is truly a pleasure to lend a helping hand preparing for this upcoming event that would be beneficial for the needs of the children. This project has its effects on us in a positive way that would mold us and build up our character on being compassionate towards our fellowmen.
I just want to extend and give my heartfelt gratitude to the following sponsors who has supported fully in this project:
