A Dollar A Day charitable giving project update : US$ 500 distributed in first 12 days

The A Dollar A Day project began on 1 May.

Since then the project has donated the equivalent of US$ 507 in 12 daily donations to 8 great projects.

The receiving projects have spanned the globe including Hive account@schoolforsdg4 and Hive account@womenempowerment in Bangladesh, Hive account@thegreens in Cameroon, Hive account@papilloncharity in South Africa, Hive account@bobydimitrov's community garden in Bulgaria, the Hive account@intrepidsurfer tree planting project in Peru, Hive account@tarc animal rescue centre in the USA, and Hive account@familyprotection in North America and around the world.

Fifteen generous steemians have contributed SBDs over the first 12 days the project has been running, and new people are joining all the time.

The SBD figures for each of the donators are the total SBDs they have sent to the project for past and future distribution. Hive account@goldendawne is donating 2 SBD per day, and Hive account@cryptocurator is starting that from 16 May.

In addition to my daily donation of 2 SBD, I am also using post rewards to top up the daily donations to 15 SBD. So far I have donated 69 SBD in total.

Thanks also to Hive account@hopehuggs who is supporting the project by giving daily donations directly to people in Venezuela.

These are being recycled back into enhancing the daily donations.

With the current levels of donations, and if the SBD value doesn't fall further, the A Dollar A Day project should be distributing approaching the equivalent of US $1500 in the first month.

If anyone else would like to join in the project donating 1 SBD each day, even if only for a few days, it would be great to have you on board. Maybe we can get the monthly total up to US$2000 !

Hive account@schoolforsdg4 and Hive account@womenempowerment in Bangladesh

Hive account@schoolforsdg4 has so far received donations of 10 SBD and 15 SBD.

This is an excellent project run by the very hardworking and resourceful Hive account@azizbd who has a school for 60 children in a slum area of Sylhet in north eastern Bangladesh. Mohammed Hive account@azizbd posts regularly about activities at the school and he has plans to expand the school. I would thoroughly recommend checking out the blogs of both Hive account@azizbd and Hive account@schoolforsdg4

Mohammed also runs an associated project Hive account@womenempowerment training the mothers of the children at Hive account@schoolforsdg4. A donation of 15 SBD has been sent to Hive account@womenempowerment.

Hive account@thegreens

Donations of 10 SBD and 15 SBD have been sent to Hive account@thegreens project in Cameroon.

Hive account@thegreens describes itself as a 'Grassroots Youth Environ-Agricultural and Health organization working to connect, inspire and collaborate with young people to foster sustainable development'.

Hive account@thegreens was founded by Ngalim Franklin Hive account@dukefranky. They have really good activities on the go such as the EcoDesigns Zero Waste Project, the EndPlasticPollution Campaign and Green Radio.

Hive account@familyprotection

Two donations of 15 SBD have been sent to Hive account@familyprotection.

The Hive account@familyprotection project was founded and is run by Hive account@canadian-coconut and Hive account@markwhittam.

Hive account@familyprotection carries out vital work helping families being harassed by "Child Protection" Agencies such as the CPS in the US.

Hive account@bobydimitrov's community forest garden

Hive account@bobydimitrov in Bulgaria is working with a group of local families to build a community forest garden.

The project began in 2017 and is being developed as funding permits. The donation from A Dollar A Day is being using for equipment for organic pest control.

Donations have also been sent to Hive account@tarc (2 x 15 SBD), Hive account@papilloncharity (15 SBD) and Hive account@intrepidsurfer (15 SBD).
