Today, the team had a meet up at Safara foods restaurant located in the Bosso local government area of Niger state, Nigeria. The meeting lasted for 3 hours as the team brainstormed on how to carry out it's six objectives.
In attendance from the left hand side, we have
Topics Discussed at the meet up include
How to get funds for our project: The team came up with an idea that we could seek funds from both the steem platform, blockchain investors and offline donor group and bodies who are into charity works.
Empowering the people we donate to: To help those we intend helping to become less dependent on people and to become income generators themselves through skills empowerment like sewing of clothes, beads and bag making, shoe making e.t.c
Inter-school projects; In addition to donating and empowering the less privileged in the society, we saw it fit to invest in education and we decided to holding Inter-school competitions which we include spelling competitions, writing competitions and sports among primary and secondary school children.
Transparency and fund raising: Since the team is looking beyond the block chain, the team considered registering STEEMMINNA under the Cooperate Affairs Commission(CAC) in Nigeria as a Non-Governmental Organisation which will also enable us to open a cooperate bank account for receiving funds from international bodies. This measure is to ensure transparency of funds being received and to build trust in our sponsors.
Social media: Social media promotes faster than human words, we have decided to spread the news of what we are doing on various social medias, so we can get more donors and show the world people still do good. To that effect an email address would be opened in the name of steemminna and also a facebook account.
Team needs: To be more efficient we came to a conclusion that we would be needing an office environment, a vehicle for easy movement around the north as we carry out our activities.
Team shirts: We decided to get some t-shirts for the
members so we can easily be identified during our outings and meetups.
