When looking for documented evidence of chemtrails, perhaps the most damning of evidence is this patent.
The patent number is 3,613,99, and the title of this patent is simply “WEATHER MODIFICATION METHOD.”

This patent is important for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the date. This patent was filed March 25th, 1966 and officially patented October 19th, 1971. This gives you an idea of just how long government institutions and scientists have been trying to modify the weather. The second most important factor in this patent is the method in which they would modify the weather, which we’ll get to in a minute.
This invention and its application created by Robert G. Knollenberg, made the claim that one could induce rainfall or snow by artificially seeding clouds with agents. A crystalline material capable of acting as an ice forming nucleus would produce snow, and another of said solid substances consisting of a material having a high solubility in water and a large endothermic heat of solution in water would produce rain droplets.
The patent first outlines the theory in which condensation nuclei forms to create clouds and the process in which rainfall or snowfall occurs. They then outline previous attempts used to simulate this process using potassium nitrate, ammonium nitrate, urea, silver iodide, and carbon dioxide (dry ice). Although most all were successful, many were very expensive and didn’t always produce the desired affect.
Now here comes the second most important part. To carry out the majority of these weather modification experiments, quote, “A specially instrumented airplane was used” to disperse the cloud seeding agent. A 4 inch diameter tube was fitted to the fuselage of the airplane in which the clouds were seeded at a rate of between 5 to 10 pounds of solution per mile.
This describes almost to the tee what witnesses describe as chemtrails.
The patent suggests a combination of these seeding agents with other known conventional agents to dramatically improve the desired affect.
