***Warning! LOTS of cute chicken pics!! #chickenmath got me again...now I think silkie chickens might just be my favorite breed. I love my whole gang, don't get me wrong. There is just something about those fluffy dinosaur looking birds that gets me!
Meet Blanche! She is a Showgirl Silkie
The day started out like normal for my flock. Since all went well with Chaundea and Sylvia, I decided to go ahead and take 4 more birds the same lady offered me. Little did my chickens know....more ladies and one roo were about to show up.
Just a chill morning so far
Mr. Hendrix looking fab and fluffy as per usual...
I forgot to take roadtrip pics this time, I was pretty excited to get there hahaha! This was my first peek at them but the pic is fuzzy. They were a bit freaked out...
Loaded them in my bin, I was already in love!
Back home, they made the trip fine:) Check out the colours and all that fluff!!
The red one in the middle is the rooster. I don't have a name for him yet...but he is a stunner!
We took them out back and left them in the dog crate for a while while the other birds checked them out. They are all 6 months old, so kind of babies. The older birds didn't seem to care about them much. I was mostly worried about Mr. Hendrix fighting the new guy.
Some treats made for a good distraction while we introduced everyone. Pretty blue/fawn colours on this one. She needs a name too...
Mr. Hendrix #fluffybutt watching everyone. I don't think he knows there is a boy in the mix yet
Everyone is mingling!!
Except Chaundra and Sylvia...kind of rude ladies. You are new too remember😉
Fluffy Butts!!!!!!
Oh! Some cool weirdness that we noticed today....bees swarming the chicken scratch!
There were at least 50 around trying to find pollen anywhere they could
At bedtime we put the new birds in the crate, inside the coop with the old flock. I want to make sure there is no fighting overnight. There were a couple of minor scuffles today between the 2 roosters but they seemed to have worked it out. I am more worried about my bully #chickenbitches picking on the new girls. They are so small!
Blanche was the bravest. She is an independent girl I think. Looks like she is surveying her new home...I hope she likes it here❤
I cannot wait until tomorrow morning to see them all again. Tomorrow I will get individual pictures of them...they are so friggen cute! I think with the 5 Olive Egger chicks still inside, I am done adding to my flock.....for now. 😉🐓🐔😁
Thank you for reading! Take care of you and yours ❤
