Hi everyone.
China may be catching up in sets when it comes to Pokemon cards but they are going at a fast pace. China's eighth Scarlet & Violet set features Milotic ex from Surging Sparks. This set features cards from 2024's Twilight Masquerade, Shrouded Fable and Surging Sparks. The release is on March 13, 2026.
The next sets for China would include Journey Together. China would be one year behind in term of sets. This is much better than before when they were at Sun & Moon expansion in 2022.
I have decided to not post this in the Hive Gaming section. This content is more about collectibles.
Even though Chinese Pokemon cards are behind, they do get exclusive art cards like this new version of Carmine. In the video game, Carmine is not friendly. The Carmine cards here show her in a different light.
Poke Ball/Master Ball Pattern Cards
Brilliant Illusions will also see the release of a special package that comes with three of the set's 5-card booster packs, one bonus card, and one coin. It'll cost 39 yuan ($5.50).
The card you receive will be one of the following reverse holos (either Poke Ball or Master Balls) or one of the following Double Rares. The Poke Ball to Master Ball inclusion ratio is 99:1, making the Master Ball reverse holos very hard to pull.
Chinese Pokemon pack prices seem reasonable over there at 5.50 USD or about 8 CAD each. In the Toronto area, one booster pack from a main set is easily 10 to 12 CAD.
I do find it odd that there is no Stellar Crown in the Chinese set. Maybe in the next one.
Thank you for reading.
