The Sunshine Supermarket (阳光超市) is in the building on the left, alongside restaurants, a pharmacy, and a bakery.
On the other side, behind more small shops, is a K-5 school. The tall building straight ahead contains flats for sale or rent.
Following fellow Steemian lead, I'm going to post photos of the Chinese city where I have lived for the last nine years. Unlike bustling and expensive Shanghai, where mobbs lives, Jishou is much smaller and much cheaper, like New York compared to Omaha.
Today I had to visit the local supermarket, so I took some photos on the way back to campus. I have walked this path countless times in nine years living in this city. Not a very long walk, and it might not be especially interesting to see these photos, but you'll get a glimpse of everyday life in a small Chinese city.
I plan to do more in the coming days, as time permits.
To the left is the entrance to the city sports arena. Straight ahead are small shops near Jishou University's north gate.
The shop with the big red sign is a small restaurant, "Beautiful Food Lane" (美食坊). The sports arena gate is on the right,
We are now on the campus, just inside the north gate. On the left is the track and football field; on the right are dormitories.
The seniors have to leave the dorms by Monday morning, so they are shipping their stuff home by courier.
Even more students are sending their belongings using China Post. The green-and-white bin is for clothing donations
This is the lane alongside one of the school cafeterias. Dorms are on the left.
It was just after lunch time.
Hope you enjoyed this little tour. More to come as I prepare to leave this fair city.
