Religion: are people losing faith?

I grow up in a Christian home. But most times thought of me stopping to serve God, was not a problem, as I grow older I have meet differed kind of human all with different believes, I feel sad when some people say "let talk about something else exclude religion and Politics", why all this thought, why people teach differed thing about God, why people stop serving God. the truth is that religion has to fail to teach one truth about a God we all hear differed stories and do not know the one to follow. I have met a lot of people who say that there is no need we talk about religion because if there is no religion the world will be safe. What do you think? about this topic should we remove religion? Or is there a true religion?
