But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
(1st Peter 2:9 Amp.)
We as children of God sometimes talk about our priesthoodness. Before the coming of Christ, people could not approach God directly.
There was an intermediary or a middle man between God and man known as the priests, but after Christ's victory on the cross, the system changed.
Now, all we need is to go to our saviour Jesus Christ on our knees with a sincere heart and ask whatever we desire without the need of any middle man nor fear.
It doesn't matter whatever it may be, sin of any magnitude, trials, tribulations, sicknesses, oppressions, etc.
We are now priest to ourselves! Hallelujah!!
Heb.4:16 says:
Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].
We are also given the responsibility of bringing others to Christ through our life style, daily living and evangelism.
2nd Cor. 5:15 says:
And He died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake.
As children of God, we are jointed with Christ as members of His body. And because of our new role as a priest, we also reconcil God and people.
Beloved, according to the scripture above, we have been specially chosen, separated, made a priest by God to Himself and called to represent Him to others here on earth.
Our values and worth comes from being one of God's children, a Holy nation, and perculiar to God.
God has made us His royal priesthood, so that we can be a light to the entire world, we are created to show God's praises and works to the entire world.
God has brought us into His marvelous light, so show that light of God to your own world especially the people around you.
The questions now are:
Are we really representing God as light?
Are we truely shinning as God's true light?
Can people see us and see this light of God shinning in us and through us?
These questions are necessary in order for us to check if we are really operating in our royal priesthood.
Please let us constantly stand as the light that we truely are and stand always as God's ambassadors and shine for God in our generation.
Shalom!
