Being in recovery is always boring right? Not at all!
As someone who focuses primarily on recovery issues in my posts, I often think that people must have an idea that being in recovery must be boring all the time, I mean what must it be like to not drink or get high right?
Well let me tell you, it is way more fun than not remembering what happened the night before, or spending the night with your face in the toilet. How about waking up with a black eye? Or the best one of all, waking up in jail!
I will take sobriety for $1000 Alex....
New Years Dance at the Alano Club
This is what having fun sober looks like, not all doom and gloom but good friends with common interests spending time together. We were playing cards and talking, there were even some people brave enough to dance...Not me, but some people!
We even have a bar of sorts!
I know this is just a quick post, and it isn't my normal lengthy diatribe (Good words huh?) on recovery issues, but I just wanted anyone out there that was struggling with whether or not living clean and sober is worth it or not, let me tell you it is!
This is the first full year of my life that I have not drank or used the entire year without being locked up, and let me tell you, my life is a completely different thing than it was before. I wouldn't care what happened, there is no way I would go back to the way I used to live.
Living clean and sober is so worth it! Keep at it one day at a time!
