(Ez 36: 25-27) "I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be cleansed from all your filthiness; and I will cleanse you from all your idols. I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will remove from your flesh the a heart of stone, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and keep my precepts, and do them. "
What would be new about the baptism in the Holy Spirit?
Although one of the essential characteristics of the Messiah's ministry would be to baptize with the Holy Spirit, that did not mean that the third person of the Trinity had not been active during the entire Old Testament period.
We can see examples of this activity in the training of some people within God's people to carry out special tasks. But in the age inaugurated by the Messiah, the Holy Spirit would be available to all believers without distinction. This generous outpouring or baptism of the Holy Spirit was to be one of the main and distinctive blessings of the new age of the Messiah.
Beginning with the day of Pentecost, a new age dawned in which the Holy Spirit would dwell in every believer forever, filling him if he found the right conditions in him. The Lord Jesus Christ himself announced this fact to his disciples:
(Jn 14: 15-16) "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, to be with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him but you know him, because he dwells with you and will be in you. "
