This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it
Psalm 118:24 New King James Version (NKJV)
This new day is indeed a day that the Lord has made and it is well that we rejoice in it. The Psalmist; however, was more likely referring to the day that Father took the stone (Jesus) that the builders (people) rejected and making it a capstone of the people and His church.
As the body of Christ, we may look at ourselves as having many missions and callings. Building the church is certainly one of them as instructed by the great commission. Success in such a lofty goal is not possible with reclusive, judgemental stances that separate us from those we seek to help. Of course we must know right from wrong and the will of the Father and take root in it, but we cannot expect others to KNOW it also, just because we do.
Think restoration! The father restores, Jesus restores. He ate with the tax collector, talked with the Samaritan and did not judge the prostitute. He restored them by loving them and meeting them on their turf.
My thoughts for today seem to have drifted far from the verse, or have they? I believe this message is the message for today as it was for yesterday, rejoice in it, for today is a day of restoration! Let us be glad that it has been given us.
Many Blessings.
Craig
