BIBLE PASSAGE: Mark 11: 23-26
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses
Meditation: Hebrews 12:15
Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled, impure turned to a life of sin.
THE MESSAGE
To forgive means to stop feeling resentment towards the person that offended you. If you still resent hearing the name of that person, it means you are still holding something against him or her. To forgive also means to free the offender from blame. Thirdly, it means to pronounce forgiveness. When you forgive, it is important to verbalize it; tell the person, "I forgive you" and mean it. When that is done, the way is open for the flow of virtue. Absalom had a grudge against his brother Amnon for two years.
He did not say anything to him, but one day he murdered him; 1 Samuel 13:22, 23. Un-forgiveness ends in bitterness which defiles and makes grace to fail; hence, nothing works. So, you are the major beneficiary when you forgive. It lightens the burdens of your heart. It causes your health to spring forth speedily. Forgiveness opens the door for your next blessing because when you let go of the past you lay hold on the future. Every act that causes you to be offended is an act of the past. The more you hold on to it the more you debar your forward movement. Let it go now.
