So there I was, tears streaming down my face, scared, angry, at my wit's end with no idea what to do. The problem I was grappling with seemed beyond all solutions. It was certainly beyond my personal means or ability at the time.
In utter fearful, angry desperation I looked upwards and shaking my fists burst out
"WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?! ! ! ".

To my complete amazement, I felt a hand on my right shoulder, gentle yet comfortingly firm and steady. It wasn't visible, but it was tangible.
A one-word answer, audible yet more like a whisper swirled around me like a breath of warm, sweet air. It was all I needed. The Lord calmed my storm and peace descended upon me.
Even though I didn't have all the details or understand how it was going to work out, I knew He had it all worked out already. There was nothing more for me to do but trust in and rely on Him.
"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert". Isaiah 43:19
"For with God nothing shall be impossible". Luke 1:37
Call on the Lord no matter what your state of mind. You don't have to be in a perfect state of blissful meditation or piousness or holiness or anything. Come as you are. He always hears you. He always answers, perhaps not as dramatically or tangibly as in this instance, but He always answers. His Word tells us that His answer to all of his promises and blessings is now yes and amen. Our job is to trust in His way and His timing and not rely so much on our own devices.
"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him." 1 John 5:14
"For all the promises of God are yes in Christ, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us". 2 Corinthians 1:20
So, if you're angry, take it to the Lord. If you're afraid take it to the Lord. If you're so frustrated you're swearing like a sailor, take it to the Lord. He knows it all anyway and He loves you just as you are.
You are His beloved child. Nothing you can say or do changes that. Ever. So come boldly before the throne of grace for help in your time of need. Know that, whether you literally feel His Hand on your shoulder or not, He has you in the Palm of His Hand and no doubt, He is making the way forward for you whether you see it yet or not.
“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. ”
Hebrews 4:16
"Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you! Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands!” Isaiah 49:15
"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! .... ”
1 John 3:1
