Today article is about what is"ALLELUIA".
During the Easter Vigil, Alleluia used many time and it seem like the word been repeating over and over again.why is that?
What does it mean anyway and why it most used in season of Easter.
Alleluia (sometimes written "Hallelujah") comes from a Hebrew phrase ('Hallelu yah') which means Praise the Lord!
"Hallel" is the Hebrew Word for "Praise".
"Yah" short form of "Yahweh"(the name for God)
Its is also found in the book of Tobit(Tobit 13:22) not surprisingly it also found in the book Revelation.(Revelation 19:1-7)
So what does "ALLELUIA" mean?
From very early times, "ALLELUIA" was used by Christians. Easter is a period of great joy ans exultation, and singing Alleluia is the Church's way to highlight this reality, continually giving praise and honor to God.
So, if someone ever need a short prayer that praises God, simply shout out, "Alleluia"
Alleluia, Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed, alleluia!
