Today I want to review the new "Tomb Raider" movie. I watched it a few days ago and thought I could share my opinion with you guys.

Why I love Lara Croft
To be completely honest with you I haven't played the first games of Tomb Raider. And I also do not want to play them today. I see why people back in the day loved these games but nowadays most people want to play games with better graphic and a more complex story - me too.
But I played the Tomb Raider videogame from 2013 and I love it 😍
Lara Croft is a perfect combination of an innocent archaeologist and a brave hero. She's a strong woman and it is awesome to play an adventure game with a female main character. That's why I was really excited for the new Tomb Raider movie.
The film - Good but not perfect
So let's talk about the movie. It started pretty slow but that was important to introduce Lara Croft and was she's about to do. I like that the film do not rush anything. Instead they give the viewer time to learn more about Lara and the Croft dynasty.
It is great to see the connection between Lara and her missing father which is shown by flashbacks to the time when Lara was a little kid.

After a while the movie's speed gets faster and we can see how Lara becomes increasingly a cold-blooded assassin. At first she has problems with killing someone, she only does it because she needs to if she wants to survive. But soon - in my opinion to soon - she seems to have been befriendend with it.
Tomb Raider has a lot of good scenes. A lot of action scenes, a mysterious archaeological exploration but also slow parts where we can learn more about Lara and her father.

The film has no heavy weak points but as it is based on videogames many fans expected a lot more exploring relics, brutal scenes and different locations.
The film has nearly no turns, the movie is following a stare red line. Which is sad because the games had a lot of twists and it was hard to say how the story would go on.
Conclusion
Tomb Raider is a really good movie which could be even better if it had more twists and some additional locations. Fans of the videogames may miss some things from the games.
But: The movie is thrilling, has a lot of good scenes - and a lot of action - and it is really fun to watch Lara Croft trying to safe her dad.
