In my ongoing attempts at decluttering, I inevitably wind up walking down memory lane. Today's find was a real blast from the past. I was going through some old boxes and found these two gems.
Remember the fun of wandering the aisles to find the perfect weekend movie? These two long gone companies created the home entertainment market that we enjoy today via streaming. Long before Netflix sent DVDs in the mail, Blockbuster and Hollywood Video were the places where families got their movie fix first through VHS tapes and then later with DVDs.
The phrase, "Be Kind Rewind" came to mind when I pulled these out of the box. So funny and yet something that has no place in a world of streaming. What was once part of our culture has no use today. It has drifted away from use and been replaced with words like "binge watching" which streaming makes so easy to do.
I'll admit, it would be nice to wander the aisles of an old-fashioned video store. Just for old times sake.
