Dark German science fiction series, created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese in 2017.
The series that tells us that time does not belong to us, the recognition of the series is not surprising, since it contains very good ingredients, making us fantasize about the idea of ββtime in a scientific and metaphysical way that had not been explored by any production cinematographic until then.
The plot raises the real possibility of the operation of time as an eternal loop, which produces the elimination of the classic conceptions of past, present and future. And for that reason, Dark's characters can move between these times and influence the events that happen before or after.
It all starts when Mikkel in 2019 disappears and disappears into a cave in a forest similar to the German Black Forest, and in that forest, there are several underground caves and a nuclear power plant that hide certain mysteries, including a scientific discovery that could change the course of all mankind. .
Jonas, a teenager involved in the incident, decides not to investigate what happened, and he begins to ask certain questions and thinks that everything is related, first to the suicide of his father, Michael, a few months before the incident, and then to the ability that cave had to be able to alter its temporal capacity.
The story revolves around four families in the city and a mystery and in three different timelines: 1953, 1986 and 2019. However, the year 2019 is the starting point of the narrative action and the main arc, that is, the present from the series. In the context of the story there are other methods of time travel, some related to the cave, the nuclear power plant and others a little different, which will be revealed little by little in an exciting plot.
Dark is a series that deals with the cyclical theory of time, but there are many theories related to this theme, and time is explained from individual experiences, raising the idea of ββtime not as a linear dimension, but as an infinite loop.
The series defends one of the most important themes that the past influences the future and the future influences the past ... giving the idea that everything is related to each other. There is no beginning or end, that is, time is like a circle where all events coexist and all temporal realities are interconnected.
Time travel is essential and part of the storyline of "Dark", as well as the lives full of disappointments, betrayals and tragedies of the inhabitants of Winden. Mass one of the methods of time travel is through the cave, remembering that there is also a time machine, and with it a person can go back or forward in time in 33 years.
