Deep into the Citrus season which is what the residents of Candyland called spring time, they would have waited all years for the great orange trees to begin to flower and when it was ready for harvest they would spend two full weeks wandering the countryside, gathering every single citrus candy orange available. If they were not harvested they would rot in the summer sun, so they would take almost all of them and leave the rest to seed for the next year, any that were small unripe and unready to eat. When they took them home they would slice them into beautiful sugar covered slices and enjoy them for weeks to follow.
