A couple of years ago I visisted Japan for the first time and completely fell in love with the country. There's something about their modern day moral compass that completely lines up with mine. I spoke no Japanese yet was able to find my way around and ask for directions when needed. Granted, there was a lot of gesturing and map drawing on both sides in order to get our points across. I have since returned, armed with a bit of the Japanese language under my belt, and have grown to appreciate the country even more.
This photo was taken on my first trip. I met up with my friend's dad who proceeded to take me on a tour. After visiting the atomic bomb museum we drove to the top of a hill and got an overview of modern day Nagasaki. It was breathtaking to see the entire city laid out before me.
