Look at this glimmering SEC building of Washington DC. I was passing by this street when this caught my attention. This is located at 101 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC. With its reflective glass covering the building makes it more attractive. I surely know that aside from its sturdy and well architectural looks, inside has is creditable security as well.
We all know how important role this agency is playing under every government. Its sole purpose is to protect investors from dangerous or illegal financial practices or fraud by requiring full and accurate disclosure by a company offering stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other securities to the public.
With Laws that comes along with this agency was designed to restore investor confidence in our capital markets by providing investors and the markets with more reliable information and clear rules of honest dealing. So basically, before jumping to any investments, it is strongly recommended to check the credential of that company on SEC. SEC will help you if this company is legit or not.
The United State's Securities and Exchange Commission is an independent, federal government agency responsible for maintaining fair and orderly functioning of securities markets, and facilitating capital formation. It is funded solely by gifts and grants from the private sector and receives no government funding as per information so far I know.
