We're having unseasonably warm days in England. It's been in the top teens celsius at least.
Blossom is appearing while the snowdrops are only just fading. The birds are very excited. People are walking around in t-shirts.
It will not last. Rain and lower temperatures are promised for tomorrow and no matter what the cause, what type of climate change we're experiencing, it is still Northern Hemisphere winter and this time last year it was snowing.
Humanity can adjust if and when it goes back to "normal". We'll have a grumble, expound our theories about climate change, put on a jumper and wait for real spring. But the other creatures and life forms that aren't able to chat about it, or use technologies to protect them from cold are likely to have a shock. And this will likely have consequences for us later in the year and so it goes on.
The climate weirdness isn't growing linearly, but it is growing and feeding back on itself and that's a recipe for change, potentially sudden, chaotic and unpredictable.
And we thought Brexit was the worst of our troubles.
