Initial haematuria.
This is haematuria in which blood is passed before clear urine. The cause is usually at the Urethra ( The tube connecting the bladder to the outside). The cause include injury to the Urethra, infection and inflammation to the Urethra. The urination is usually painful
Total haematuria.
This means the person passes blood out from beginning to the end
This is a haematuria from a position beyond the bladder. Either the ureters or kidneys. It is usually due to a tumor. However It can also be seen in prostate diseases. And even some bladder problems
Terminal haematuria
This means the person passes clear urine followed by bloody urine.
It usually signify bladder pathology.
This include tumor , bladder schistosomiasis.
Cystoscopy is one of the investigation of choice.
The treatment depend on the cause. If you ever see blood in the urine; DO NOT IGNORE IT
