So happy to receive a new postcard again! This postcard is from China, showing the outdoor scene of Zhuimu Tang Hall in Xidi village.
It’s also my first time hear about Xidi village. After I searched on web, oh it’s fantastic! Xidi Village was built in the 11th century (Song Dynasty). It was built by the Hu family. The first ancestor of Hu family was the son of Emperor Zhaozong of the Tang Dynasty who escaped from war and fall of Tang Dynasty. He changed his surname to Hu and stayed in Anhui where Xidi was later built.

Xidi is a famous ancient village preserving many heritages. Zhuimu Tang is one of them. Zhuimu Tang was built in 1794 for the Hu Family to worship their ancestors. It is a typical Anhui architectural building.

Xidi was listed to World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000, which is the first village to be listed. The Michelin travel guide also listed Xidi as highly recommended, which is the highest level of recommendation.
If that event didn’t happen, there should be much more heritage in China.
