There are campaigns to this cockfighting by some animal welfare organization who are against cockfighting, they claim that it's animal cruelty and it's an abuse to cocks.
In my country, the Philippines cockfighting is part of Filipino culture most especially during holidays and fiesta celebration. Almost in every town, there is a cockpit arena. If there is law that ban cockfighting, well maybe cockfighting aficionados will rally along the streets.
