Subscription Coffee
PRET A MANGER OFFERS MONTHLY COFFEE SUBSCRIPTION FOR TWENTY QUID
πππ¦πππ£πππππ½
Have you heard? Pret A Manger in the UK is offering a subscription based coffee scheme for only Β£20 a month. The global pandemic is changing not only the way we live these days, but business models around the world. Companies like Pret pretty much depend on City workers to stay afloat. They are the ones that drop in for a coffee in the morning on the way in, during lunch and on the way home.
Apart from the fact that we are not out and about in the same way as before, not for work or play, we don't have that much disposable income as we did before. People have made adjustments to save money, which means places like Pret and Starbucks have born the brunt of that.
The subscription model is not new - not even in the food and hospitality business. There have also been a few voucher based schemes in cafes like Pret in the past, but this is probably the most audacious one I've seen. Desperate times calls for desperate measures I think.
Peace & Love,
AdeΜ
