Perhaps, drinking coffee for the Acehnese is a culture that has been ingrained. Although it has not found when coffee is firstly known in Aceh, and how coffee culture begins until now, it can be said this one habit has been so united in the daily life of the community.
This refers to the facts that many types of coffee grown in some areas of Aceh, both robusta and arabica, each of which is divided into several variants.
There are also different name for different coffee time; Kupi Beungoh (morning coffee), Kupi Poh Siploh, and Kupi Luho (noon coffee), Kupi Asa (afternoon coffee), etc.
In term of on the way of presentation, the taste, or ingredients, the type of coffee menu in the coffee shop in Aceh also has many names such as Kupi Phet, Kupi Kocok, Kupi Itam, Kupi Khop, Sanger and so forth. These names are well known before advertisements and modernity carry foreign names like Americano, Latte, Cappuccino or Espresso.
