I consider caffeine a very dangerous drug because it is so socially acceptable in our society. I had my last cup of coffee in February 2016, so it has been over two years now that I have been off of it. This is after have 3-4 cups of coffee a day for years on end.
Many people will not consider coffee a drug. I would recommend that they then try and break their coffee addiction by going "cold turkey" like I did and see how hard it is.
It was definitely worth it though. I have a lot more consistent energy by eating clean, instead of having these up and down energy spikes which is caused by coffee.
Even though I don't drink coffee I still use caffeine a few times a year in the form of energy gells. These I only use during cycling races and the amount I use is so small it is almost not worth mentioning.
