Saskatoon Berries are not related to blueberries, which they resemble. And, though thought of as a berry, a Saskatoon Berry is actually a "pome" and closer to an apple in structure.
About a month or so ago, I ordered two Saskatoon Berry bushes. a couple of weeks ago I put them into some containers and tried to wait until the danger of cold weather is gone, because I want to try to avoid putting small plants into the ground if it could freeze.
I had already dug the holes that the bushes were going to go into, and today I planted the bushes. Because I think that it is prudent to acknowledge the fact that cold temperatures might still come, and I also wanted to protect my purchase from being damaged or killed by frost. So I covered the bushes with semi-transparent trash bags. I do not plan on leaving the trash bags there for a long time.
