The Zêzere river is a watercourse of the region of the Center, Portugal.
It is born in the Serra da Estrela, at about 1900 m altitude, next to the Cântaro Magro. Still in the Serra da Estrela area, it passes by Manteigas and near the city of Covilhã, then to the southwest, converging with the river Tagus to the west of Constância, after a course of about 200 km.
The Zêzere is the second largest river exclusively Portuguese, after the river Mondego.
The name of the river has Arab origin and means "River of the Cicadas".
These photos were taken in Vilar da Amoreira, a very beautiful area to spend the day and catch some freshwater fish! 😉
