I took this photograph on New Years Eve at a beach in Cape Woolamai, Phillip Island, Australia. There were a lot of people down on the beach for the countdown, as we dug our feet in the sand and watched beautiful displays of fireworks. After midnight a group of people let of flares and I jumped at the chance to capture some great shots. The red flares created a stunning smokey red backdrop as they lit up the beach and the ocean.
